A Role Based Trust Model for Peer to Peer Systems Using Credential Trees
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper deals with a Role based Trust (RT) model for Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks. P2P networks are essentially decentralized in nature to enhance resource sharing and collaboration. The anonymous and open nature of P2P systems offers an almost ideal environment for unauthorized access of digital content and also for easy distribution of malware. Today’s popular P2P systems have to challenge the attacks by anonymous malicious peers. RT is a Trust Management framework for P2P networks where access control decisions are based on policy statements, called credentials, made by different principals and stored in a distributed manner. This paper explains the approach of building credential trees for credential chain construction. Credential trees overcome the cyclic dependency problem of credential graphs which may lead to non-termination. The credential trees are used for evaluating trust relationships.

A Genetic Programming-based trust model for P2P Networks
Abstract— Peer-to-Peer ( P2P ) systems have been the center of attention in recent years due to their advantage . Since each node in such networks can act both as a service provider and as a client , they are subject to different attacks . Therefore it is vital to manage confidence for these vulnerable environments in order to eliminate unsafe peers . This paper investigates the use of genetic ...

The interactions among peers in Peer-to-Peer systems as a distributed collaborative system are based on asynchronous and unreliable communications. Trust is an essential and facilitating component in these interactions specially in such uncertain environments. Various attacks are possible due to large-scale nature and openness of these systems that affects the trust. Peers has not enough inform...

Peer-to-peer applications (P2P) are no longer limited to home users, and start being accepted in academic and corporate environments. While file sharing and instant messaging applications are the most traditional examples, they are no longer the only ones benefiting from the potential advantages of P2P networks. For example, network file storage, data transmission, distributed computing, and co...
متن کاملTrust Negotiation for Automated Service Integration
This paper presents a generic Trust Negotiation framework for Web services, based on the WS-Trust standard. It allows users to create trust incrementally, by disclosing credentials step by step. This way, services and resources can be shared in an open environment, and access can be realized on the basis of peer-to-peer trust relationships. The paper also describes a practical implementation of...
